For the legacy Content API, go to Tripadvisor Developers, sign up or log in with a Tripadvisor account, then click Create API key. For Terra, log in to your Terra Dashboard and copy the key from the My API Key card on the Overview tab; if needed you can rotate it there. The docs say to send the legacy key as the key query parameter, and the Terra key in the X-API-KEY header.
