Create a Google Cloud project, enable the Traffic Director API, and obtain Application Default Credentials or a user/service-account access token using Google Cloud authentication as described in Google Cloud authentication getting started. For local CLI-based setup, install the Google Cloud CLI and run gcloud auth application-default login or gcloud auth login; for workload access, create a service account in IAM & Admin and grant the Traffic Director/Cloud Service Mesh permissions your client needs.
