Log in at ScholarXIV, open the Developer Dashboard, then go to API Keys and click Create API Key. Name the key, choose an expiration, create it, and copy it immediately; the raw key is shown only once. Keys start with sxv_. Store it in an environment variable such as SCHOLARXIV_API_KEY.
