recommendationengine.googleapis.com
Recommendations AI was Google Cloud’s recommendation service for retail and media use cases. Google’s retail documentation says this older service endpoint remains available but has been superseded by newer Retail / AI Commerce Search APIs.
recommendationengine.googleapis.com exposes a legacy Google Cloud Recommendations AI HTTP API; docs indicate OAuth 2.0 access tokens are supported and prediction calls can also use a registered Google Cloud API key.

For server-to-server use, create a service account in the Google Cloud Console, grant it the needed IAM roles for Recommendations AI, and authenticate with Google Application Default Credentials as described in Google Cloud authentication. For user-based OAuth, create OAuth client credentials from APIs & Services > Credentials and obtain an access token for Google Cloud APIs.
Create an API key in Google Cloud Console > APIs & Services > Credentials. The Recommendations AI client-library docs note that if you use an API key for predictions, the API key must first be registered with the Recommendations AI API using the API key registry service.
