PubNub is a real-time communications platform for building live, interactive applications with publish/subscribe messaging, presence, and related services. It also provides account-management, analytics, and AI-assistant integration capabilities through its admin, insights, and MCP offerings.
PubNub exposes HTTP APIs for real-time messaging, account administration, and Insights metrics, plus a hosted MCP server and a local MCP CLI package; documented auth uses Service Integration API keys or hosted MCP OAuth.

Sign in to the PubNub Admin Portal as an Owner or Account Admin, then open API Management / Service Integrations. Create a Service Integration or open an existing one, choose Generate API Key, set its expiration, and copy the key when it is shown. PubNub states the key is shown only once; if lost, generate a new one and revoke the old key. See Service Integrations and API Keys and the Admin API intro.
Use an MCP client that supports remote MCP OAuth and add the hosted server at https://mcp.pubnub.com. During setup, the client opens PubNub's authorization flow, where you select the organization to authorize, review permissions, and click Allow access. PubNub documents this flow on the PubNub MCP server page.
