Sign in to your Namecheap account and open API Access. Enable API access, add at least one whitelisted IPv4 address, and copy the generated API key. The API uses your account username for both ApiUser and usually UserName, your generated ApiKey, and a whitelisted ClientIp. For testing, you can create a separate account in the Namecheap sandbox and use its sandbox API access page and credentials there.
