For user-driven CLI access, install the Google Cloud CLI and run gcloud auth login or gcloud auth application-default login. For service-to-service access, create a service account in the Google Cloud Console, grant it Memorystore IAM permissions, and obtain Application Default Credentials as described in Google Cloud auth setup. The Memcache API uses Google Cloud IAM, so the caller needs a Google-issued OAuth 2.0 access token tied to a user or service account with the right roles.
