The IAM Service Account Credentials API is a Google Cloud service for impersonating IAM service accounts to mint short-lived OAuth access tokens or ID tokens and to sign blobs and JWTs with Google-managed service account keys. It is part of Google Cloud IAM.

Use Google Cloud authentication for the caller identity that has permission to impersonate the target service account. The easiest path is to sign in with the Google Cloud Console or run gcloud auth application-default login / gcloud auth login, then obtain an access token via Google's auth libraries or gcloud auth print-access-token. The IAM Service Account Credentials API requires the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/cloud-platform scope, as shown in the discovery document.
In the Google Cloud Console API Credentials page, create an API key for your Google Cloud project. The discovery document lists the key query parameter as an accepted API credential. Apply API restrictions as needed.
