ExchangeRate-API provides currency exchange rate and conversion data for many world currencies. It offers free, open-access, and paid plans with endpoints for latest rates, pair conversion, and some higher-tier historical or enriched responses.
ExchangeRate-API exposes three public developer HTTP surfaces: a key-authenticated v6 REST API, a no-key Open Access REST endpoint, and a legacy/public v4 REST API documented by an OpenAPI spec; no GraphQL, MCP, or CLI surfaced.

Sign up for an account at Get Free Key. After confirming your email, copy the API key shown in your dashboard; the docs say to substitute YOUR-API-KEY with the key displayed in your dashboard. Paid plans are also started from the same signup flow on Plans.
