Create OAuth credentials in Google Cloud Console API Credentials or use an existing Google Cloud identity to obtain an access token. For local/dev use, the easiest path is to authenticate with gcloud auth application-default login or gcloud auth login, then request a token with scopes such as https://www.googleapis.com/auth/container, https://www.googleapis.com/auth/container.read-only, or https://www.googleapis.com/auth/cloud-platform as documented in the Container API discovery document.
In Google Cloud Console API Credentials, create an API key for your project. The Container API discovery document says the key query parameter is an API key and is required unless you provide an OAuth 2.0 token.
