For REST access, get a Google Cloud access token using the easiest path documented by Google: either sign in with the gcloud CLI (gcloud auth login or gcloud auth application-default login) and use the resulting credentials, or configure Application Default Credentials as described in Authenticate for using REST and Authenticate to Compute Engine.
