In The Bandwidth App, go to Account → API Credentials and click Create. Fill in description, account scope, roles, and accounts, then save. Store the clientSecret when shown; it is only displayed once. Your clientId/clientSecret are then used to obtain OAuth 2.0 bearer tokens via the client-credentials flow.

Legacy Bandwidth API Users are deprecated. The credential-management docs state creation of new API Users is disabled as of April 1, 2026, updates are disabled July 1, 2026, and they are fully decommissioned December 2, 2026. If you still have an existing legacy API user, its username and password can be used where legacy auth is still supported during the migration period.
