acmedns.googleapis.com is Google's ACME DNS service endpoint used to manage DNS-01 challenge TXT records for domains previously managed through Google Domains. Public product documentation is minimal now because Google Domains was migrated to Squarespace, but the API discovery documents still describe the service.
acmedns.googleapis.com exposes one REST API, the Google Domains ACME DNS API, for reading and rotating ACME DNS-01 challenge records; no GraphQL, MCP, or CLI surface was found.

In Google Cloud Console credentials, create an API key for your Google Cloud project. Use the key as the key query parameter when calling the API. The discovery document states the API key is required unless you provide an OAuth 2.0 token.
In Google Cloud Console credentials, create an OAuth 2.0 client, complete Google's consent-screen setup, and obtain a user access token for this API. The discovery document says an OAuth 2.0 token may be supplied via the access_token or oauth_token query parameter instead of an API key.
Get the ACME DNS access token from the Google Domains website for the domain you manage. The API discovery schema for RotateChallengesRequest.accessToken says this is a base64 token secret procured from the Google Domains website and that it authorizes ACME TXT record updates for a domain. The public product page is now replaced by a migration notice at Google Domains ACME DNS, so the exact UI path is no longer documented there.
